The conference field trip will be organized in the Kőszeg Mountains and Burgenland led by Tamás Sági (Eötvös Loránd University) and László Fodor (HUN-REN Institute of Earth Physics and Space Science). The aim of the field trip is to introduce the geological history of the visited area.
The bus of the field trip will start at 8 am. in front of the HUN-REN Institute of Earth Physics and Space Science (Sopron). During the field trip we will visit various metamorphic (metaconglomerate, greenschist, serpentinite) and magmatic (basalt) outcrops that preserved the tectonic and geochemical history of the visited area.
We recommend to bring a hammer, loupe, field boots and other geological tools to the field. FFP3 masks for the serpentinite quary will be provided.
